Hanafi (Indonesian, b. 1960) is an Indonesian contemporary artist celebrated for his lyrical abstractionist paintings that evoke emotion and invite contemplation. Born in Purworejo, Hanafi pursued his passion for art at the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts (ASRI), where he studied from 1976 to 1979. This formative experience laid the groundwork for his distinctive artistic voice, blending traditional influences with modern techniques.
