Teguh Ostenrik (Indonesia, b. 1950), is a contemporary Indonesian artist renowned for his diverse artistic practice that spans painting, sculpture, and installation. In 1974, he pursued his education at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, where he developed a unique perspective that blends Eastern and Western influences. After completing his studies, Teguh returned to Jakarta in 1988, where he has since become a pivotal figure in the Indonesian art scene. His work reflects a deep engagement with themes of identity, culture, and the human experience, often exploring the intersection of tradition and modernity.

Memanjat is featured in Ostenrik’s book titled “Transcending Time”, page 252. The collector will include the book as the painting’s provenance.
