Born in West Sumatra, Yunizar (Indonesia, b. 1971) received his fine arts degree from the Indonesian Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta. In his practice, Yunizar intentionally moves away from grand narratives and didactic messages, choosing instead to focus on the everyday moments that resonate with the essence, or rasa, of his surroundings.
