Unnamed, Untitled (Mollusc), Undated

SGD 400.00

Fired stoneware

22 (H) x 35 (L) x 29 (W) cm

Condition: Very Good

Singaporean potter.

Once upon a time, the arts scene in Singapore was lively with many exhibitions by local artists, potters and ceramists. We bought this along with a few others. The artist has imbued a sense of whimsy in this creation, reminiscent of walks along the sea shore. The whole piece is like a giant mollusc with tiny shells and barnacles embedded in its fluted edge like lapping sea waves. I used to say that if you put your ear into it, you might just hear the roar of the sea!

We are moving on and into a smaller home, so letting go of this piece of nostalgia.
