These roses are painted by Dr. Earl Lu Ming-Teh (b. 15 September 1925, Hong Kong–d. 2 September 2005, Pisa, Italy), whom I have always admired. I have watched him paint elegantly with very precise strokes and each piece almost always turn out perfect. Roses are his favourite subject matter, rare and timeless.
