Joseph Rolella (b. 1972, Sydney), is an award-winning Australian post-war and contemporary painter. With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Visual Arts, he has exhibited in a collective of 21 group and solo shows. His approach to abstraction displays a delicate push and pull between opposing visual characteristics. This diptych in specific, works in tandem to maintain a sense of balance compositionally, and yet exhibits an abrasive quality with effective use of texture and tetradic colour palette.
