Le Thiet Cuong, Untitled (Ploughing Man), 1995
Oil on cheesecloth laid on board
38.5 x 53.5 cm, 65 x 80 x 2.5 cm (framed)
Condition: Very good, with tape residue on top left of acrylic front, but painting is in very good condition
-
We got this painting at Cuong’s (Vietnamese, b. 1962) Singapore exhibition held at The Raffles Hotel. We loved his contemporary style with an Asian edge and the way he captures the rhythm of Vietnamese rural life. What caught our eye was how the farmer encircles his buffalo as he ploughs, like how life revolves around the times and seasons of farming.
