Nikhil (b. 1958) is an artist from Bengal, who lectured at the College of Fine Arts, Bangalore.
When I saw this painting at the Substation in Nov 1997, I was attracted by the stories that the artist was telling - the girl selling watermelons, the little boy smoking while seated on a gas cylinder eyeing the girl with a black and white dog.
