The seller runs a vintage and collectibles company which she started over the covid lockdowns in Singapore. Armed with impeccable taste, the seller acquires art primarily based on her own personal feelings towards the artwork or to support organisations that she believes in.
Patrick Procktor was a British painter who worked with oil paints, thin acrylic washes, and watercolors to create portraits of friends like David Hockney. On the bottom left of the artwork, there is a seal from ‘ebury fine arts’, likely indicating the work is from the galleries on Ebury St in London. ‘AP’ refers to “Artist’s Proof”. In the early days of printmaking, these were often the best quality versions, as there was no wear and tear on the plates at this early stage.
