Stuart Taylor is a Devon-based printmaker whose work blends site-specific photography, painting, and drawing to create evocative monoprints that explore humanity’s relationship with nature. His ongoing project, The Tree Portraits, features over 350 unique prints inspired by pollarded street trees near his former home in East London. Selected works from The Tree Portraits have been exhibited internationally, including at the 16th Graphica Creativa Print Triennale in Finland, where the Jyväskylä Art Museum acquired a piece for its collection in 2023.
Previously a keyholder at East London Printmakers for over a decade, Stuart has exhibited widely, including at the Affordable Art Fair, the RA Summer Show, and the National Original Print Exhibition, where he won the Great Art Prize in 2018. His practice is further enriched by a small-scale rewilding project near his Devon studio, grounding his work in both artistic and environmental engagement.
