Yaghoub Moshfeghi Far (b. 1961) is an Iranian artist. I remember picking up these works early in Moshfeghifar’s career, when he still painted on jute. He showed great potential then and is now a well known Iranian artist.

I love his portrayal of rural Iran. Blue is not a colour commonly associated with the village of Abyaneh, but his contouring of the buildings and trees looks as if he’s superimposed the sky on the landscape, demonstrating the effect of the storm on the historic village.
