This piece is by Australian artist Kim Hine who’s unique style is painting Asian women with encaustic - a wax like covering to the canvas which gives a unique effect and texture to the painting.

This piece has been placed in the dining area on a dark wood veneer wall and its colour scheme enhances dark wood furniture. The piece appealed to me due to its “Cambodian”/ Angkor Wat style which is enhanced with the twin stone sculpture subjects either side of the main female subject.  It reminded me of visits to Asian temples (and in particular Angkor Wat) and I found it enhances the decor of a room with other Asian sculptures and artifacts.  The use of pink and browns gives a warm and homely feeling to a room.

The painting is being put up for sale due a work relocation overseas to a furnished serviced apartment - so rather than place in long term storage, I would rather the piece find a home whereby it would be displayed.
