Thang Kiang How (Singaporean, b. 1946) is a self-taught painter and sculptor best known for his abstract works created with acrylic and airbrush techniques. Over his career, he has held around a dozen solo shows and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions worldwide. He served as President of the Modern Art Society Singapore (1982–1993) and Vice-President of the Federation of Art Societies Singapore (1990–1996), and has received multiple accolades, including the Public Service Medal in 1981 and awards in the UOB Painting of the Year competition.

This is a rare piece by Thang, better known for his abstract Cosmic series. It clearly shows that he was already experimenting with the manipulation of paints as early as 1978.
