Home is where one feels most free to be oneself. This is certainly the case for this shirtless pot-bellied gentleman enjoying a slice of watermelon in the summer heat, with the cat and the poultry asking for a taste. 

Christine Mak (Singaporean, b. 1957) takes a gentle dig here about a man’s castle being his home through this rural portraiture. We love her whimsical humour that differentiates her artwork. A truly contemporary ink artist.
