Óli G. Jóhannsson (Icelandic, 1945–2011) was a painter known for his abstract and expressive works that reflected the shifting landscapes and atmospheric moods of Iceland. Born and raised in Iceland, he developed a deep appreciation for the natural environment, which would later influence his artistic practice.
His paintings often explore the relationship between light and form, evoking a sense of movement and emotional depth. While rooted in abstraction, his compositions frequently hint at elements of nature. Collectors and institutions continue to value his work for its dynamic energy and connection to the natural world.
