Leo Hee Tong 梁其栋 (Singaporean, b. 1940) is an artist recognised for his expressive modernist paintings and long-standing contribution to Singapore’s visual arts scene. He studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where he was influenced by pioneering artists such as Cheong Soo Pieng and Georgette Chen, and later furthered his studies in Japan. These experiences shaped a visual language that blends abstraction, Cubist structure and rich colour relationships.
His works are characterised by layered textures, bold brushwork and recurring symbolic motifs, reflecting memory, time and personal experience. Leo has exhibited widely in Singapore and internationally, received multiple major art awards, and completed several public art commissions. His works are held in significant public and corporate collections, affirming his status as a respected figure in Singaporean modern art.
