Ta Kim Dung (Vietnamese, b. 1945) is a contemporary artist known for his delicate watercolours, pastels and drawings that often depict scenes of rural and coastal life in Vietnam. His works frequently feature fishermen, village markets and traditional landscapes, rendered with a soft, expressive touch that captures the atmosphere of everyday Vietnamese life.
We bought this at an art auction held to raise funds for St Andrew's Village. A passionate alumni of the school had apparently travelled to Vietnam, picked up artworks that spoke to him, and donated them to the school for fundraising. We loved the perspective of this painting and the tranquillity it evoked.
