Lee Sik Khoon (Singaporean, 1939–2015) was a Singaporean painter whose practice developed alongside the emergence of modern art in Singapore. He trained at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and was a regular member of the Ten Men Art Group, an informal collective led by Yeh Chi Wei whose members travelled throughout Southeast Asia to sketch and paint. The group’s regional journeys played an important role in shaping the artists’ engagement with local subjects and semi-abstract approaches to painting.
Lee’s works encompass figurative subjects, landscapes and semi-abstract compositions, often combining observed forms with expressive treatment of colour, line and space. He exhibited regularly in Singapore and was featured in the Ten Men Art Exhibition held at Victoria Memorial Hall in 1961. His works are represented in the collection of the National Gallery Singapore, including paintings from the 1960s and 1970s.
