Ahmad Zakii Anwar (Malaysian, b.1955) is a contemporary artist known for his highly detailed, realist paintings and drawings that often explore urban life, still life, and the human figure. Starting his career in graphic design and advertising, he later shifted into fine art, developing a signature style marked by strong technical control, atmospheric lighting, and a sense of quiet psychological tension.
His works often combine everyday subjects with deeper symbolic and metaphysical undertones, reflecting themes such as identity, spirituality, and the modern human condition. Over time, Zakii has become a key figure in Malaysian contemporary art, recognised for blending realism with conceptual depth and a cinematic, contemplative mood.
