Aisha Rosli (Singaporean, b.1997) is a contemporary figurative painter whose psychologically charged works explore themes of solitude, vulnerability, desire, and the complexities of human relationships. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), she creates enigmatic scenes populated by introspective figures, drawing inspiration from artists such as Francis Bacon, Egon Schiele, and Marlene Dumas while developing a distinctly personal visual language.
Working primarily with acrylic and oil stick, Rosli builds her paintings through layers of glazing and concealment, creating images that blur the boundaries between the familiar and the uncanny. Recurring motifs such as stripes, gingham, and lattice patterns anchor her compositions, reinforcing the emotional and psychological tension within her works. Since graduating, she has exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions in Singapore and presentations in Paris, London, New York, and Kuala Lumpur, establishing herself as one of Singapore's emerging contemporary painters.
