Ardiyanto Pranata (Indonesian, 1944-2022) was an artist known for his work in batik, painting and textile design. He was born in Surabaya, and originally trained in agricultural technology before turning to the arts. He became a lecturer in the Theatre Department at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Yogyakarta. His practice usually focuses on traditional Indonesian Batik techniques with natural motifs and abstract forms, using fabric as his primary medium. He was known for his use of subtle geometry and organic rhythm, often reflecting themes from nature and mythology.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Pranata opened his home in Yogyakarta as a space for exhibiting and selling his works, attracting international collectors and art patrons. His pieces were collected by institutions such as the University of Wollongong and featured in exhibitions including Contemporary Textile Art from Indonesia at the GRASSI Museum in Leipzig.
