Budi Ubrux (Indonesian, b. 1968) is a prominent contemporary artist celebrated for his unique style. His artwork often portrays figures wrapped in meticulously hand-painted newspaper texts, offering a powerful critique of media influence and societal issues.
His artistic path includes time in Switzerland, where he worked as a billboard painter and hosted a solo exhibition in Baden. Upon returning to Indonesia, Ubrux gained acclaim with his painting "Immacologi," which earned the prestigious Philip Morris Art Award in 2000.
His evocative and thought-provoking pieces have been featured in galleries and museums worldwide, including iPreciation in Singapore. Ubrux remains a significant voice in Indonesian contemporary art, using his work to spark meaningful conversations.
