Chan Mei Hsien (Singaporean, b. 1983) is a visual artist whose practice centres on drawing and the expressive use of continuous line. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (2004), she first developed her fascination with line through collagraph printmaking, a technique that continues to inform her approach to portraiture and movement. Working from a wide range of found images, spanning politicians, celebrities, and anonymous figures, Chan focuses on human expression and emotion rather than identity. Her flowing, unbroken lines convey both restraint and sensitivity, inviting viewers to connect with the subtleties of gesture and feeling in her subjects. Her works have been presented at the Annual Printmaking Society Show, the Esplanade Tunnel, and the Postmuseum.
