    Chen Chong Swee (Singaporean, b. 1910–1985) was a prominent Singaporean artist known for his contributions to the Nanyang style of art, which blended traditional Chinese techniques with Western artistic principles. Born in Singapore, Chen Chong Swee began his artistic journey by studying at the Shanghai College of Art in the 1930s. He later traveled to Paris, where he further honed his skills and was influenced by European art movements.

    Chen Chong Swee's artwork often depicted scenes of everyday life in Singapore and Malaya, showcasing his mastery of color and composition. His works are characterized by vibrant hues and a harmonious blending of Eastern and Western artistic elements. Throughout his career, Chen Chong Swee received numerous accolades for his contributions to the arts, solidifying his legacy as one of Singapore's most influential artists.
