A graduate of the China Academy of Art, 1958 born Chen Zida’s works have been exhibited widely. Chen displays his mastery in oil painting through realist depictions of pictorial elements from the Orient, with Chinese embroidery on luxurious red silk heavily featured in his oeuvre. 

The owner of the work was drawn particularly to Chen’s oriental subject matter, identifying with the feminine elements of the work. 

Purchased in 1990s, from Bobby Chng Art Gallery.
