Cheong Leng Guat (Singaporean, 1954–2018) was an artist and the daughter of celebrated Nanyang style painter Cheong Soo Pieng. Growing up immersed in her father’s creative world, she developed her own artistic practice, producing works in ink, colour and other media that were shown alongside those of her father in exhibitions exploring intergenerational artistic dialogue.

In addition to her own artistic practice, Cheong Leng Guat was actively involved in the local art community, contributing to exhibitions and supporting the preservation of Singapore’s modern art heritage. Her role within the arts extended beyond making work, reflecting a long-term commitment to artistic practice, cultural continuity and the careful stewardship of visual culture.
