Damien Hirst (British, b.1965) is one of the most influential and controversial figures in contemporary art, rising to prominence as a leading member of the Young British Artists (YBAs) in the 1990s. Working across sculpture, installation, painting, and printmaking, his practice examines themes of life, death, science, medicine, and belief. Hirst is best known for his formaldehyde-preserved animals, pharmaceutical installations, spot paintings, spin paintings, and diamond-encrusted sculptures, all of which challenge conventional ideas about mortality, value, and the role of art.

Invader (French, b. 1969) is a Paris-based urban artist best known for his ceramic tile mosaics inspired by the 1978 arcade game Space Invaders. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts, Invader began his project in the late 1990s, discreetly installing pixelated characters on public buildings in Paris. His early interest in street culture, video games, and hacking informs his artistic identity, which he keeps anonymous and separate from the traditional art world.
