Eng Joo Heng (Singaporean, b.1956) is a printmaker and educator recognised for his contributions to contemporary printmaking in Singapore. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), he furthered his studies at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where his exposure to the renowned Atelier 17 profoundly influenced his artistic practice. Working primarily in woodcut, linocut, and other relief techniques, he is known for combining technical precision with innovative approaches to layered colour and composition.
Following his return to Singapore, Eng taught printmaking at NAFA for over a decade before joining the Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI) as their senior printer and workshop manager, where he has continued to advance the field of collaborative printmaking. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in numerous public collections, including the National Museum of Singapore. Through both his artistic practice and teaching, Eng has played a significant role in the development of printmaking in Singapore.
