Faris Salim Nakamura (Singaporean, b. 1988) is a visual artist known for his sculptural and installation-based practice that explores space, architecture and identity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (First Class Honours) from LASALLE College of the Arts in partnership with Goldsmiths, University of London in 2014. His works investigate how people navigate and relate to built environments, often reflecting on the tension between public and private spaces.

Faris’ practice spans sculptures, installations and site-specific works that draw from urban structures such as stairwells, void decks and corridors. Through minimal yet carefully constructed forms, he examines ideas of belonging, movement and the emotional connection to space. He has exhibited widely in Singapore and internationally, and is a recipient of several awards, including the IMPART Awards in 2020 and the Young Talent Programme Winners’ Solo.

Acquired from Richard Koh Fine Art in 2020.
