Felix Treadwell (British, b.1992) is a contemporary painter whose practice explores childhood, nostalgia, and the uncertainties of adolescence through whimsical and dreamlike imagery. Born in Maidstone, England, he studied painting at Camberwell College of Arts before completing an MA at the Royal College of Art in 2018. He is particularly known for his recurring character Feelo, a semi-autobiographical figure that moves through strange, imagined worlds.
Treadwell’s paintings combine soft pastel tones, airbrushed gradients, and hand-painted acrylic elements to create simplified figures and fantastical creatures suspended within sparse environments. Drawing influences from manga, anime, Japanese printmaking, childhood television, and 2000s visual culture, his works balance playfulness with a subtle sense of melancholy and introspection. He has exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions in London, New York, Taipei, Stockholm, Hong Kong, and Palma.
