Han Yajuan (Chinese, b.1980) is a contemporary artist best known for her vibrant, cartoon-like depictions of young women immersed in the world of consumer culture and fantasy. She graduated from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou in 2004, where she studied oil painting.

Emerging in the early 200s alongside China's "Cartoon Generation" artists, Han's works reflect a post-1980s youth identity shaped by economic reform and globalisation. Her characters, often stylish, wide-eyed women surrounded by luxury brands, gadgets and whimsical settings, explore themes of material desire, self-image and escapism. The glossy, anime-inspired aesthetic conceals subtle commentary on the pressures and contradictions of modern Chinese urban life.

Her paintings have been exhibited internationally, including in China, Europe and the United States.
