Ian Quirante (Filipino, b. 1974) is a painter and mixed-media artist whose work engages with surrealism, abstraction, and the subconscious. Emerging from Manila’s vibrant postmodern art scene, Quirante’s practice draws from automatism and dreamlike imagery, revealing forms that feel organic, fragmented, and psychological. His early exposure to modernist and surrealist movements deeply shaped his visual language, leading him to develop compositions that blur the line between the real and the imagined.

His paintings often feature biomorphic shapes, textured layers, and human forms that distort, creating complex narratives. Quirante’s exploration of identity, perception, and the unconscious places him within the lineage of artists who challenge rational representation. Active in exhibitions across the Philippines and abroad, he continues to experiment with both material and meaning, offering a distinctly Filipino voice within contemporary surrealist expression.
