Jean-Paul Donadini (French, b 1951) is a contemporary artist best known for his playful, conceptual work involving printmaking, painting, and mixed media. His art often explores the boundaries between abstraction and representation, with a focus on humour, repetition, and visual symbolism. He studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in classical and contemporary art practices.
A signature element in Donadini’s work is the recurring motif of the paintbrush, sometimes seen in unusual, humorous, or exaggerated forms, used as a metaphor for craft and identity. His artworks often play with visual codes and paradoxes, blending Pop Art influences with sharp conceptual twists.
Donadini has exhibited widely in France and internationally. His work has come up in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and contemporary art fairs in Paris, New York, and London. Some of these exhibitions include Guy Hepner Gallery in New York, Art Basel in Miami, Ransom Art Gallery in London, and Opera Gallery in Paris and Singapore.
