Jon Burgerman (British, b.1979) is a New York-based contemporary artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, sculpture, animation and design. Working between fine art, urban art and popular culture, he is recognised for his colourful, doodle-inspired characters and spontaneous compositions. Influenced by early animation, Abstract Expressionism, the CoBrA movement, Art Brut and Pop Art, Burgerman uses humour, improvisation and playful imagery to explore the complexities of contemporary life. His works often feature soft, abstracted figures with expressive eyes and exaggerated forms, balancing light-hearted visuals with themes of anxiety, uncertainty and emotional experience.

Burgerman graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Fine Art in 2001 and has exhibited internationally in galleries, museums and public spaces. His works are held in collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum in London. Alongside his studio practice, he has collaborated with brands such as Apple, Nike, Samsung and Instagram, and has produced picture books, toys, murals and other creative projects. His work continues to emphasise the value of play, experimentation and creative expression.
