Jun Tiongco (Filipino, b. 1957) is an artist known for his atmospheric and often tranquil works in watercolor, oil and pastel that reflect everyday life, still lifes and scenes of rural existence. His artistic journey began with early art lessons during his school years under the guidance of mentors who nurtured his passion, and he briefly attended the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, where he immersed himself in creative study and artistic community before continuing independently. Over decades of practice, Tiongco has developed a style that blends impressionistic sensibilities with delicate observation of objects and landscapes, often favouring subdued hues and serene compositions that convey quiet beauty. His works have been exhibited and sold at auction, appearing in venues such as León Gallery in Makati and forming part of group exhibitions with other Filipino artists. As an active member of the visual arts community, he has also supported local artistic networks and associations in his home region, helping to foster a broader appreciation for Philippine contemporary art.
Acquired directly from the artist in 1994.
