Kenneth Thabo (South African, b. 1948) is an artist known for his expressive watercolour, often depicting scenes of everyday life, particularly focusing on children. Thabo’s art is characterised by its soft, emotive style and muted palette, frequently capturing intimate moments such as children playing or interacting in community settings.
This work makes us wonder what thoughts occupy the boy’s mind, and what kind of future might be unfolding before him.
Acquired from the South African Embassy in Singapore during its brief tenure in the early 1990s, prior to its transition to a High Commission following South Africa’s re-entry into the Commonwealth.
