Khor Kok Kheng (David) (Singaporean b. 1954) was born in Penang where he was captivated, life-long, by landscapes and temples and the historic town.
Living in Singapore since 1971 and, while lawyering, awakened a long interest in art, collecting paintings then himself resuming painting learnt at art lessons in school.
He studied watercolour under Ong Kim Seng for some years in the early 2000s.
He has exhibited his watercolour and oil paintings and drawings:
Dedication to Watercolour (An Ong Kim Seng and Students Exhibition), SMU Gallery, 2006
Tropical Landscapes, solo exhibition in a Kreta Ayer Road gallery, 2011-2012
A Melange of Time and Place (Camelot's Evening of Wine and Art), 2012, solo exhibition at a private apartment.
He is even now actively producing watercolours, oils, drawings, and has recently branched out to include oil pastels and Chinese ink.
This painting is vibrant and joyful - never failing to lift our spirits as we look at it. The trees seem to be dancing and waving their hands, reminding us of a verse from the Bible - affirming the possibility of joy in our lives, and that the trees of the fields will clap their hands as we go out with joy and be led forth in peace.
