Le Thiet Cuong (Vietnamese, 1962-2025) was a contemporary Vietnamese painter recognised as one of the leading figures of minimalist art in the country. A graduate of the Hanoi University of Fine Arts, he was known for his restrained, pared-down style characterised by simple lines, muted colour palettes, and sparse compositions that emphasised form and space. His works often depicted everyday objects, rural landscapes, and architectural elements, rendered in a way that reflected both traditional Vietnamese aesthetics and modernist influences. Alongside his painting, he was active in Vietnam’s contemporary art scene as a curator and cultural organiser, contributing to the promotion of modern Vietnamese art at home and abroad.
