Lim Poh Teck (Singaporean, b. 1963) is an artist and educator known for his vibrant explorations of heritage, migration, and cultural identity. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (1987) and LASALLE College of the Arts (1989), he later obtained a Master of Arts (Media Art) from the University of New South Wales and a PhD in Art Studies from Peking University.

“In this sunny, tropical painting, icons of everyday life offer a glimpse of Boon Keng's fascinating past and vibrant present. The works are replete with details that tell of changes in Boon Keng over the years. In a lively example of interactive art, some of the more charming details from the paintings are reproduced on the station walls and subways where the young and old may find them.”

Lim’s work reflects the layered intersections of his Chinese roots, Singapore upbringing, and experiences abroad, often combining Eastern and Western imagery in playful, symbolic compositions. His practice spans painting, mixed media, and installation. He has received several accolades, including the Grand Prize at the UOB Painting of the Year (1990) and the National Arts Council’s Young Artist Award (1997). Lim currently lectures at NAFA, continuing to shape Singapore’s next generation of artists.
