The scene of bathing beauties has been a popular subject matter amongst artists through the ages. “Tropical Bathing Beauties”  appear to depict a contemporary scene from a tropical paradise where the women partake in their daily rituals, exuding an air of sensuality whilst seemingly unfettered and untouched by mundane complexities of life. The evocative painting brings to mind the iconic works of post-impressionist artist Paul Gauguin’s in his stylised depiction of Polynesia during his foray into Tahiti.

This work was acquired in Bali, Indonesia.
