I've had this portrait by Marion Miller with me for many years. Though little is known about the artist, the work speaks for itself. A man rendered in a style that resists realism, where soft edges and abstraction invite you to linger. The background, a deep teal and cool brown, frames the muted green and yellow tones of the figure. Off to the side, a delicate spread of tiny flowers offer a surprising touch.
