Melissa Tan (Singaporean, b.1989) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice explores the intersection of nature, mythology, memory, and systems of mapping. Working across drawing, sculpture, digital rendering, and laser-cut forms, she creates intricate compositions that investigate how landscapes, narratives, and imagined worlds are constructed and understood. Her works often balance scientific observation with poetic speculation, resulting in richly layered visual experiences.
A graduate of LASALLE College of the Arts, Tan has exhibited extensively in Singapore and internationally, including participation in the 2016 edition of the Singapore Biennale. Her works are held in notable public and private collections, including the Singapore Art Museum, Marina Bay Sands, GIC, Meta, and CapitaLand. In recognition of her contributions to the arts, she was awarded the prestigious Young Artist Award in 2023.
