We don’t know much about the artist, but we really enjoyed the monochromatic aesthetic and the play of light and shadow in this work. Whilst the work appears to be abstract, everyone sees something in it, and it has been a source of great conversations among friends. For me, it  looks  like an outline of a woman, or queen, or even the Egyptian god Nefertiti. Other observations range from a flag, a boat, a whale tail, shark fin, a toy …

We love how it’s framed in an acrylic box, and the work appears to be just floating. We have enjoyed it for more than 2 decades, and are ready to let it go.

Even as the paper has aged over time, it seems to have aged very nicely, blending into the natural aesthetic of the subject matter.
