Oh Chai Hoo 胡財和 (Singaporean, b. 1960) is a contemporary artist known for his practice across ink painting, ceramics, calligraphy and seal carving. He graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1982 and began exhibiting from a young age, including early group shows alongside pioneer artists such as Chen Wen Hsi. Over the decades, he has developed a practice rooted in traditional ink techniques while continuously experimenting with material and form.
Deeply inspired by nature, particularly rock formations and geological structures, Oh’s works explore the passage of time, natural forces and the idea of imperfection. His paintings are characterised by a strong command of ink tonality and expressive brushwork, often balancing realism with more abstract, atmospheric elements. Through this approach, his works convey both physical landscapes and a more reflective, philosophical dimension, making him a significant figure in Singapore’s contemporary ink art scene.
This work is sold as a set of three.
