Randy Solon (Filipino, b. 1971) earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of the Philippines Diliman and also holds a Certificate in Advertising from the Philippines Women's University. He has participated in major national art competitions, including winning the Grand Prize in the 2006–2007 PLDT PDC Telephone Directory Cover Visual Art Competition and becoming a multi-year finalist in the Shell National Students Painting Competition. His works have appeared in exhibitions and auctions in the Philippines and across Southeast Asia.
Solon is known for his hyperrealist and symbol-laden paintings that often feature animals, ambiguous figures, and surreal environments. His images frequently carry psychological tension, using dramatic contrasts of light and shadow to heighten mood and meaning. The scenarios he creates can feel dreamlike or unsettling, inviting viewers to reflect on vulnerability, conflict, instinct, and the human condition. Through his meticulous technique and evocative imagery, he encourages deeper contemplation of the emotional and symbolic narratives within his work.
