Rosa Serra (Spanish, b. 1944) is a renowned post-war and contemporary sculptor who redefined the tradition of Olotina sculpture. This style, rooted in the Olotina Landscape School, was inspired by the pastoral beauty of Catalonia’s countryside, characterized by deep forests and rolling hills. The movement began over 125 years ago, spearheaded by painter Joaquim Vayreda. Serra’s work represents a bold departure from the conventions of this school, marking her as a pivotal figure in the evolution of modern Catalonian art.
