    Sa-ard Thanomwong (Thai, b. 1941) graduated from the Poh Chang Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1961. Early in his career, he painted movie posters, taught art at Santirad School, and worked as an illustrator at Bangkok hotels including the Oriental and Indra. In 1971, while employed by the U.S. Information Service in Bangkok, he created a nine-aintnig expressionist series titled "Wild and Free", depicting wild horses; exhibited at the AUA Centre, the series initially didn't sell but gained positive reviews in Bangkok World, and were subsequently bought by foreign diplomats. He later produced themes series like "Forest in Thailand" and realistic lotus pond paintings.
