Sameera Kalupahana (Sri Lankan, b.1970) is a painter best known for his watercolours depicting rural life, landscapes, and everyday scenes in Sri Lanka. Born in Galle and trained at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Art, he has developed a practice rooted in close observation, capturing the character and rhythms of local communities through sensitive draughtsmanship and a refined handling of colour. His works are particularly admired for their ability to convey atmosphere and human presence with economy and clarity.

A skilled watercolourist, Kalupahana often focuses on ordinary moments and familiar subjects, transforming them into evocative images that celebrate the cultural and social fabric of Sri Lankan life. His paintings are held in private collections internationally, and he continues to contribute to art education through his teaching at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Art.

Acquired directly from the artist in Sri Lanka in 2025.
