Sammy B.Williams (American, b. unknown) is a photographer known for his emotionally resonant documentation of Black life and protest in the United States. Raised in Concord, Massachusetts, in a biracial family, Williams turned to photography as a way to channel the challenges of growing up with ADHD and facing racism. He began with portraits and weddings but shifted toward documentary work during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, using his camera to explore emotion, identity, and resistance.
We purchased “The Crosscut Saw” in New York at a photo gallery that specialised in vintage prints, when we visited in the late 1990s.
