Tiong Tian Tong (Singaporean, b. 1961) is an artist known for his landscape paintings and scenes of old urban architecture, often rendered in watercolour, ink and oil. He has developed a practice centred on direct observation, capturing back lanes, shophouses and changing city environments with a strong sense of atmosphere and structure.
In 1992, Tiong pursued advanced studies in oil painting at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing under a scholarship from the National Arts Council. Over the years, he has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in exhibitions across Asia. His works are held in major public and corporate collections including the Singapore Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore, the Istana collection and Singtel Art Collection.
